Wellness Now: Your Oasis in a Hectic Day
My previous Wellness Now newsletter focused on the Root Chakra, the center of safety and security. Today, let's concentrate on the Heart Chakra, the center of kindness and unconditional love. Being kind is always important but with so much sadness and suffering due to the effects of the virus, practicing compassion, caring and empathy seems more essential now than ever.

I invite you to open your heart by embracing Metta Meditation . Metta means an all-encompassing love, a sincere desire for the happiness and well-being of others, free from expectation. Practicing this ancient meditation - even for just a few minutes - offers profound benefits, among them:

  • an increase in positive emotions and a decrease in negativity
  • a reduction in emotional stress and anxiety
  • stronger social connections (from a very safe distance!)

Take a few moments now to try a simple version of Metta Meditation below. If you have a bit more time, click here for the complete meditation, which begins with maitri , loving-kindness toward oneself, the only path to cultivating true compassion toward others. 💗
May you be well,

Metta Meditation (Loving-kindness)
Begin in any comfortable seated position; close your eyes or have a soft gaze. Place your palms together (in namaste) at the Heart Chakra, located at the center of your chest. Breathe deeply as you repeat (silently or aloud) the following words:

May all beings be free from
suffering and distress

May all beings be free from
fear and hatred

May all beings be free from
pain, illness and lack

May all beings be free from
struggle and conflict

Cherish all living beings with a boundless heart, radiating compassion and kindness.
Romeo wants to share this message of love (after he's done checking the other "messages" left on the rock)
" Kindness begins with the understanding
that we all struggle."
