Greetings!

Practicing Eden together this summer, the Holden Village community in and beyond the valley has flourished and grown.

Through thought-provoking discussions, powerful faculty who equip us for faithful discipleship in the world, conversations over meals and tea, expressive art classes, and time outdoors, we renew our relationships with God, the earth, and each other, and take what we have learned with us down the mountain.

Fall programs continue the abundant life with wise and gifted facilitators leading retreats on restorative justice, practices of creativity and renewal to transform our communities, music, theology, faith and public life, and more. Spread the word. Register now!

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is rerouted through Holden Village due to the Dome Peak wildfire in the North Cascade Wilderness. (Don’t worry – Holden Village is currently safe!) We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome our new neighbors through ice cream, showers, and home-cooked food.

We continue responding to the call to live as a community and practice Eden in our midst, here and now.

Faithfully,
Stacy Kitahata, Mark Bach, and Kathie Bach
Hot Tub is Back!
Holden's beloved Jacuzzi is FINALLY working again!!

Special thanks to the Rodríguez and Cervantes families for fixing the hot tub, and to all who gathered to bless and celebrate its reopening.

The crisp, cool autumn air is the perfect time to enjoy a soak in the Jacuzzi. Plan your visit this fall to enjoy the most beautiful hot tub in the mountains!

Prayers with Moo-Moo
Holden Village recently joined Moo-Moo's Prayer Club!

Moo-Moo the adorable cow puppet goes all over the country interviewing people and teaching children about the different ways of talking to, listening to, and serving God.

Check out the video of Jennifer Wolbrecht, Holden's Director of Development & Outreach, teaching Moo-Moo how people travel to the Village on buses, talking about delicious fresh-baked Holden bread, and praying together!
Abriendo Caminos
During the second week of August, Latine neighbors from across the region brought the Holden tradition of “Abriendo Caminos” to the Village. "Opening Pathways" happened across all of village life.

Throughout this week of bilingual and Spanish programming and a celebration of Latine culture, Villagers enjoyed nature hikes, art projects, the Copa Holden soccer tournament, bilingual worship, making tamales and other traditional foods, a talent show, fiesta, and more!

Listen to the Rev. Dr. David Vásquez-Levy, one of the faculty during Abriendo Camionos, share more about the week in this featured episode of the Holden Village Podcast!

New Filtered Water & Ice Machine
Thanks to the generous support of our community, Villagers are staying hydrated and cool with the new filtered water and ice machine in the Dining Hall!

Funds raised from last year's Jubilee Auction Fund-A-Need allowed us to purchase this machine. Previously there was no public source of much-requested ice for guests in the Village.

As Washington state recently experienced another scorching heat wave, we cannot express our gratitude enough for the refreshing result of your generosity!
