LIVESTREAM UPDATE

As we continue to have "issues" with audio quality on Facebook (TM) Live regarding our livestream production, we are shifting our broadcast to our website: Worship Online.

So, what is happiness all about, according to Jesus's beatitudes? Spoiler alert: It's not what most people think. Jesus does not primarily describe emotions or feelings; instead, he describes a subversive and surprising way of life--an upside-down existence that upsets our understanding of who's on top and who's on bottom.

In the opening words of Jesus's manifesto, he does not mince words. He goes for the jugular from the onset. He challenges and critiques prevailing wisdom and social convention. He details what the good life truly is and who the blessed ones truly are.

To be blessed is to be accepted and approved by God, whether or not circumstances seem to confirm or deny it. Blessedness produces unassailable happiness and joy regardless of circumstances.

When we are able to give, it always deepens our faith
in loving and serving God.

Thank You for your generosity!

Kroger Community Rewards Program News

$19.84 was raised by 12 households who have linked their Kroger customer reward cards to support Prairie Avenue Christian Church. The quarterly contribution is for shopping at Kroger from April 1 - June 30, 2024

Because our total quarterly contribution is less than $25, which is the minimum check amount, we will not be receiving a check at this time. This amount will be held and combined with your next quarter's contribution total until your contribution amount exceeds $25. At the time your total contribution reaches $25, or the end of the program term, whichever comes first, your organization will then receive a check.

Share Your Faith by inviting 5 people to church this year
The God you worship is always revealed through your words and actions. Awkward conversations (i.e. "Are you saved?") are not necessary when your words and actions reveal the God you seek to learn, love, and serve.

Crisis Nursery Project Update

Our former Sunday School wing has been reviewed with Department of Child & Family Services, Macon County Health Department, and is to be reviewed by the State Fire Marshall. As expected, code updates (primarily in fire detection and impression) are necessary to proceed. Since crisis nursery falls between daycare and group home regulations, we are seeking clarifications on code variances and requirements.

Discussion towards formal articles of incorporation as a separate corporate entity operating as part of Prairie Avenue's ministries is beginning.
