A Message from our Principals:

Principal, Clint Beyer

Associate Principal, Travis Frey

"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships."

Michael Jordan

With a month of teaching and learning complete, Prairie Ridge has established a solid routine and culture for excellence in our first month. Our educational team understands how important it is to lay down a foundation to get students off to a strong start. From simple transitions to and from class to reinforcing behaviors, students are demonstrating success in many ways. On October 13th, we’ll celebrate these successes with our annual Bowling Party. Here, students will get to bowl for just under an hour, and they’ll receive their free Prairie Ridge class t-shirt.

We will continue to teach and build character in our students throughout the year. Our “3 R’s” - Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience - are the pillars of what we teach. We notice and reinforce these R’s via our compliment cards. Staff write a blurb about how a student is meeting or exceeding expectations, and we publicly celebrate those accomplishments as a school. The kids love getting recognized on the announcements and winning a prize when their names are called!

One theme that is evident in our first month is our staff’s “team” mentality. They prioritize building positive relationships. It’s common to find a group of teachers and paraprofessionals high-fiving, fist-bumping, or shaking hands with students when they come and go from our building each day. Gone are the days of teaching just “my kids,” and teachers truly work to grow all of “our kids” together. It’s amazing to witness the work they do.

We’re excited to see all the growth your child is going to make this year.

Yours in education,

Mr. Beyer and Mr. Frey

Fire Safety Week

October 8-14, 2023

The National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) — the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week™ for more than 100 years —has announced Cooking safety starts with YOU! Pay attention to fire prevention TM as the theme for Fire Prevention Week, October 8-14, 2023. This year’s focus on cooking safety works to educate the public about simple but important steps they can take to help reduce the risk of fire when cooking at home, keeping themselves and those around them safe.

According to NFPA, cooking is the leading cause of home fires, with nearly half (49 percent) of all home fires involving cooking equipment; cooking is also the leading cause of home fire injuries. Unattended cooking is the leading cause of home cooking fires and related deaths. In addition, NFPA data shows that cooking is the only major cause of fire that resulted in more fires and fire deaths in 2014-2018 than in 1980-1984...To learn more about Fire Prevention Week and this year’s theme, “Cooking safety starts with YOU! Pay attention to fire prevention,” visit www.fpw.org. Additional Fire Prevention Week resources for children, caregivers, and educators can be found at www.sparky.org and www.sparkyschoolhouse.org.
