Rev. Fred Small
Guest Speaker on February 9, 2020

A Unitarian Universalist pastor, singer-songwriter, and former environmental lawyer, Rev. Fred Small is Minister for Climate Justice at Arlington Street Church, Boston.  Cited by Bill McKibben as “one of the key figures in the religious environmental surge,” Fred left parish ministry in 2015 to devote his energies to climate advocacy. One of the first to engage in civil disobedience to draw attention to climate change, he was arrested with 21 others in prayer outside the US Department of Energy in Washington, DC, in May 2001. February's Safety Tip

We can all help! When exiting the Parish House by the front door, please tug on the door outside to make sure that it has closed behind you completely. This door is very tight to keep out the cold air but doesn’t always catch in the lock by itself.
Where are Those Nametags?

Time to go find them! For our Vision Goal to “improve the Coffee Hour experience”, we’re resurrecting the use of nametags. Nametags invite conversation, make our interactions more personal and welcoming, and save the embarrassment of forgotten names. To request a nametag, please contact  membership@firstparishportland.org  with your first and last names, whether you are a First Parish member, and your email address.
