The one-act version of The Wizard of Oz is based on the 1939 movie and follows the story of Dorothy Gale (Emma Allen, senior) as she dreams of a land “over the rainbow”. With the help of a talking Scarecrow (Hendley Jones, senior), the Tin Man (Walker Johnson, senior), and the cowardly Lion (Finn McGinnis, senior), she escapes the grasp of the Wicked Witch of the West (Jolee McElveen, sophomore). Although she meets Munchkins and Ozians, she discovers “there is no place like home".
Audiences enjoyed members of the Little Prince Players as Munchkins and the work of sophomore Kaylor Jones who served as student director and choreographer. They also experienced the creativity of the cast and crew who worked together to create, design, and build sets for the show.
