Discipleship

Prince Students Volunteer in the Community

Throughout the fall semester, Prince students were involved in many service projects in the local community.

The Prince Interact Club officers participated in the Striplings Hay Bale Contest to benefit Extra Special People in Watkinsville. The Interact Club also completed The Big Thank You project, collecting letters for service members serving overseas during the holidays.

High school students assisted at the check-in and recovery stations of an on-campus Red Cross blood drive, and several students qualified to donate blood.

Through the leadership of middle and high school student government, students school-wide collected toys for both Operation Christmas Child and Toys for Tots, and on the day before Thanksgiving break, high school students went to several local organizations and helped with needed projects that would serve the community.

Rotary Club Members

Visit Prince 3rd-Grade Classes

The Oconee County Rotary Club made a special visit to Prince 3rd graders to deliver a dictionary for each student and explain the ways the Rotary Club helps the community. Students enjoyed looking up unique words and exploring the resources included. Many thanks to the Rotary Club members for their support of Prince Avenue students.

Hands-On Learning

Hands-on learning is important in all areas of a Prince education. In one recent example, Mrs. LaDart's high school chemistry classes completed two labs. In the first lab, students examined the reactivity of element families, specifically alkaline earth metals and halogens. In the second lab, students examined the differences in physical and chemical properties between metals and nonmetals.
