Discipleship
Mr. and Miss PACS 2021
Prince seniors Ethan Garner and Nealie Cook were selected by their high school peers as Mr. and Miss PACS 2021. Mr. and Miss PACS are selected from a group of five senior boys and five senior girls representing the senior class on the Homecoming Court. When selecting Homecoming Court, the student body is asked to consider if students are characterized by the “fruit of the Spirit” as listed in Galatians 5:22-23.
Prince Experiences Revival
Among Student Body
Students at Prince Avenue Christian School have recently experienced a spiritual revival among their high school student body as never before seen in the history of the school.

The recent revival started with a three-day, two-night high school spiritual retreat held away from campus at a beautiful retreat center in north Georgia. The goal was to remove distractions and allow students and faculty the space to take a break from the rigors of academics and co-curricular activities and focus on their relationships with one another and with the Lord.

The planning was careful but simplistic. There were no well-known musicians or big-name speakers. Corporate worship was led by the Prince High School Praise Team and teaching was led by PABC Student Pastor Jace Thomas. High school faculty led small group discussions where students met with classmates to share their thoughts and ideas regarding the teaching and their own personal experiences, and students enjoyed recreation time that included corn hole, basketball, lake activities, ping pong, and just time to relax together.
Barnabas Program Founder
Anne Barron Tufts Visits Campus
Anne Barron Tufts (’09), Prince alumna and Barnabas Program founder, was recently on campus to speak to Prince Avenue Christian School high school Barnabas Program mentors.

As a junior in high school, Anne felt called to encourage the Prince high school community to operate as the hands and feet of Christ while ministering to the social, emotional, spiritual, and academic needs of lower school students. In 2008, with the help of teacher sponsors, Anne piloted the Barnabas Program that is still in existence today.
Prince Community Donates Food
to Local Charities
The Prince JV and Varsity Volleyball Teams along with the high school Student Government worked together during the month of September to sponsor the “Spread the Love” campaign. Through their efforts and the generosity of the Prince community, Prince Avenue Christian School collected and donated 4,150 pounds of peanut butter and jelly to Oconee County Food to Kids and the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. Thank you to Prince parents and students for your support to help meet the needs of our community.
Academics and Campus Life
Prince Honors Local Veterans
As they approached the entranceway, veterans and guests attending the Prince Avenue Christian School Veterans Day Ceremony were greeted with cheers of “Thank you for your service,” from third-graders as students waved flags of appreciation and welcome.

The Prince Veterans Day Ceremony has become a favorite tradition at the school. The event provides a unique opportunity for Prince military parents, grandparents, and friends as well as community members to be recognized by the student body for their sacrifice and service while also providing an important learning experience for students regarding patriotism and freedom. Members from all branches of the military attended.

Alumnus John Cross Returns
to Campus with BBQ Business
At the recent Prince Annual Fund kick-off event, “Prince on the Green”, one of the food vendors was a familiar face. John Cross attended PACS for 13 years and graduated with the Class of 2016. He is currently attending Piedmont University and pursuing his Master of Business Administration degree.

After working in the barbecue industry and cooking for friends and family, John launched his own catering business, Brown Dog BBQ, in the summer of 2021. The event at Prince was his first large catering event. John says, “To return to Prince for my first large event was a dream come true. The ability to serve some of my old teachers and administrators that helped me graduate from high school was incredible.”
Prince Alumna Millie Bryant
Crowned Miss Oklahoma State University
Prince Avenue Christian School 2018 graduate Millie Bryant was recently crowned Miss Oklahoma State University. The Miss OSU crown includes a $1,200 scholarship and the opportunity to compete in the Miss Oklahoma pageant in June 2022.

Millie’s reaction to winning the title is disbelief. “I never in my wildest dreams expected to win Miss OSU. This year, I set a goal to step out of my comfort zone and entered the pageant with the mindset that I was going to do my best and be myself. It is so rewarding and such an amazing opportunity to be able to represent my university on not only one stage — being the feature twirler — but now two.”

Millie is in her fourth year as the feature twirler for the OSU Cowboy Marching Band and is majoring in strategic communications. After she graduates in the spring of 2022, she plans to stay at OSU, continue to twirl, and attend graduate school.
