Discipleship
Middle School Students Enjoy Spiritual Retreats
In the month of October, each grade of Prince middle school students enjoyed a day away from campus for a Spiritual Retreat.

The theme of the retreat was prayer. Students learned how Jesus taught His disciples to pray and some of the different types of prayer such as intercession, thanksgiving, and worship. After the group sessions, students spent 30 minutes alone in prayer.

Students also enjoyed a time of recreation before returning to campus. Middle school Bible teacher Dr. Clark Daniel explains the value of the retreats. "The Spiritual Retreats are a great opportunity for middle school students to get away from the busyness of school for a day and focus on deepening their relationships with God."
Mr. and Miss PACS 2019
Prince seniors Harrison Finney and Caroline Middlebrooks were selected by their high school peers as Mr. and Miss PACS 2019.

Harrison is the grandson of Garnett and Barrie Finney and has attended PACS for three years. Caroline is the daughter of Wesley and Courtney Middlebrooks and has attended PACS for 14 years.

Mr. and Miss PACS are selected from a group of five senior boys and five senior girls representing the senior class on the Homecoming Court. When selecting Homecoming Court, the student body is asked to consider if students are characterized by the “fruit of the Spirit” as listed in Galatians 5:22-23.

Prince 3rd-Graders Visit Post Office
Prince third-graders recently enjoyed a field trip to the Watkinsville Post Office. Miss Laura met students at the front door and provided a tour of the facility to see behind the scenes of the US postal system.

Students asked questions, listened intently, and were amazed by the volume of mail that goes through the post office. Another exciting feature was learning about the carriers’ vehicles and seeing the steering wheel on the right side of the car.

This experience prompted an opportunity for expository writing coupled with a thank you letter to Miss Laura for her time and attention.

The Rotary Club of Oconee County made their annual visit to Prince Avenue to graciously gift each 3rd-grade student with a personal dictionary. Alumni News
Prince Alumni Featured in Oconee The Magazine
Four Prince alumni were recently featured in the Oconee Enterprise’s Fall 2019 edition of  Oconee The Magazine  for their achievements at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The story, written by Deborah Dietzler, summarizes the high school and post-secondary accomplishments of Sutton Norris (PACS ’15, West Point ’19), Forde Norris (PACS ’17, West Point ’22), Daniel Parrish (PACS ’18, West Point ’23), and Christian Parrish (PACS ’19, West Point ’24) and emphasizes the influence that Prince Avenue Christian School and its faculty and staff have had on these alumni.

“The families agree that PACS is much more than a school; it is a community that is truly invested in all its students but differently based on their individual needs. This community guides them, prays with them, loves them and works with parents to get them back on the right path when needed.”
