Seniors Serve
in International and Local Missions
| |
The Prince Avenue Christian School senior class spent a week in March focusing on international and local missions.
Students and chaperones traveled to San José, Costa Rica and ministered in conjunction with Joshua Expeditions. While part of the group built three houses for local families, the remaining students spent time with the children and ministered to families in the area.
Locally, a group of seniors and chaperones served in the community at FISH Monroe thrift store and food pantry, Chosen for Life Ministries, and The Bigger Vision of Athens community shelter. Students organized donations, packed meals, and learned more about the important role these agencies play in the community.

| | Skaggs Awarded NROTC to Georgia Tech | | Pictured: Steven Skaggs with his parents, Trey and Renee | | Prince Avenue Christian School senior Steven Skaggs was awarded a full, four-year Naval Reserve Officer Training (NROTC) scholarship and will attend the Georgia Institute of Technology in the fall of 2025. Four-year NROTC scholarships are exceedingly competitive, with thousands of high school seniors nationwide applying each year with an average selection rate of only seven percent. What makes NRTOC scholarships even more competitive is that the Department of Defense awards 85% of these scholarships to applicants who have chosen to major in engineering, science, or math. The scholarship includes 100% tuition and required fees, plus a generous stipend for books and a monthly stipend of $250-$300 while the student is enrolled in college. Scholarship recipients are referred to as “midshipmen” and wear a NROTC uniform when attending NROTC classes and participate in four to six weeks of active duty training each summer. Midshipmen who successfully complete all academic and military requirements at the end of four years are commissioned as ensigns in the Navy and immediately placed in leadership positions. Prince Avenue Christian School is proud to share that Steven Skaggs has earned the prestigious NROTC scholarship. Steven plans to major in computer science. | | Capps Wins AA State Literary Championship | |

Little Prince Players
and High School Spring Productions
| | In Disney's Winnie the Pooh KIDS, the Little Prince Players brought to life the characters of the beloved children's story through acting and music. Winnie the Pooh (Annalia Rubio) was searching for honey in the Hundred Acre Wood. In the process, he discovered that Christopher Robin (Joshua Wilbur) had been captured by the Backson. The animals learned about teamwork and friendship as they prepared to rescue their friend. | | The high school spring production of the Broadway classic, Newsies, entertained Prince audiences with the exciting performances of their favorite Prince actors. What happens as “a modern-day David is poised to take on the rich and powerful Goliath. With the swagger of one twice his age, armed with nothing more than a few nuggets of truth, Jack Kelly (senior, Dylan Capps) stood ready to face the behemoth Pulitzer (junior, Brooks David). The tenacious and aspiring news reporter Katherine Plumber (senior, Kasey Eubanks) worked to be taken seriously in a male-dominated field at the turn of the century in New York City and along the way, turned the Newsies into legends. Their cause was heard throughout the city as they proved that a united front has the power to prevail. | |
