Dear Friends,
As we continue to watch the horrors unfolding in Israel, may we pray for those who are facing the frontlines and those who are fighting to defend. Our hearts are heavy as we watch enemies surround Israel and threaten to destroy her. But as Nehemiah offered his prayer to the Lord for the protection of Jerusalem, may we offer the same:
Hear, O our God, for we are despised. Turn back their taunt on their own heads and give them up to be plundered in a land where they are captives. Do not cover their guilt and let not their sin be blotted out from your sight, for they have provoked you to anger in the presence of the builders.
-Nehemiah 4:4-5 (ESV)
We serve a mighty and faithful God who tells us to call upon him in the day of trouble. When we call on him in that day of trouble, he promises to deliver us, for which we will glorify him! (Psalm 50:15)
We are facing a day of trouble both in Israel and right here in our own cities, states, and country. So, as we pray for our mighty God to deliver Israel, may we also pray that the Lord will turn back the taunts of the enemy right here at home.
May we all, as travelers in this land, cry out to God, claim his faithfulness, and continue the work he has called us to in eager expectation of God’s deliverance.
