Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, members of His flock, of which Jesus is the Shepherd (John 10:16), Jesus being the first to preach His gift of repentance (Matthew 4:17), now calling on each of us also to preach repentance (Luke 24:47).
The Risen Christ knocks on the door of our minds and hearts. He seeks to dine with us, to help us break up the hard places in our minds and hearts and instead sow seeds of righteousness. He calls you and me to become overcomers, to sit with Him on His throne--as He also overcame and sat down with His Father on His throne. (Revelation 3:19-22).
This of course also includes the President of the USA, and all humanity. Years ago a dear sister, I believe it was Barbara Potts, who wrote this powerful prayer; all the more urgent now:
Protection: Father, I pray the precious blood of Jesus over the President, his family and his staff. May your angels watch over them and keep them in all their ways today (Psalm 91:11). May the angel of the Lord encamp around the President and deliver him from any evil. May You deliver him from all his fears and save him out of all his troubles (Psalm 34:4,6,7). I declare that no weapon formed against the President shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against him in judgment he shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). I pray that You would hide him from the " secret plots of the wicked, from the rebellion of the workers of iniquity, who sharpen their tongue like a sword" (Psalm 64:2,3-9). Lord, close the mouths of those who would shoot out bitter words, and cause them to stumble over their own tongue. Blessed be the Lord, who has not given the President as prey to their teeth, but has enabled him to escape as a bird from the fowler's snare (Psalm 124: 6,7). Keep him from the snares the enemy has laid for him, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while he escapes safely (Psalm 141:9-10). Bless the President, Lord, and surround him with Your sheild of favor and with mercy (Psalm 5:12, Psalm 32:10).
Wisdom: Father, may the President be given wisdom liberally from above to make the decisions that he needs to make today (James 1:5). Each morning, awaken his ear to hear as the learned (Isaiah 50:4), and quicken his heart to be willing and wise to do the work that You have shown him to do (Exodus 35:5, 36:2). May he "be filled with the knowledge of [Your] will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding" (Colossians 1:9), and may the eyes of his understanding be enlightened with Your truth (Ephesians 1:18). Your Word say that "he who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God. (2 Samuel 23:3). I pray that the President would rule in the fear of God rather than men. I loose him from the influence of falsehood, deception and ungodly counsel, and I bind his mind, will and emotions to truth and to the will and purposes of God. I loose him from the passions of the flesh and worldly thinking and bind him to the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). Thank You for giving him discernment to know Your voice so he will not follow the of a stranger (John 10:4,5). I pray that You would empower him with all wisdom and knowledge so that he will be able to excel in all his endeavors (Ephesians 3:20) to uphold righteousness, truth and justice across this land (Isaiah 28:17).
Salvation and godly character: Father, I pray that the President if he doesn't already know You, would come to a saving knowledge of You. I pray that he would have the "excellent spirit" of Daniel (Daniel 5:12) and that he would "put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh" (Romans 13:14). I loose him from fear and intimidation, and bind him to power, love, and a strong mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I pray that discretion will protect him and understanding will guard him, and that wisdom will save him from the ways of evil and from wicked men (Proverbs 2: 10-12). I pray that he would walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Lord, may you strengthen him with might by Your glorious power, giving him patience, joyful endurance, and a thankful heart (Colossians 1:10-12). I pray he would be an instrument for noble purposes, useful to You for accomplishing every good work the sake of this nation. (2 Timothy 2:21).
