Making Disciples through Love & Service

Message from Steve Taylor
Message from Steve Taylor

From Melessa and Adriennne:
"Hey everybody! Donations [see list below] can be dropped off at FUMC Graham. Melessa is planning to head down either Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning and will be happy to take as many donations as possible in her car. She also has a few friends who are leaving early Saturday morning and are willing to take donations as well. If we can get a head count by Wednesday we can figure out transportation of volunteers and donations.
Let us know if you would like to travel this weekend or on a future trip.

The plan for now is to let Gerome know how many people are planning to come so he can make plans. He did recommend bringing a cooler for your own drinks and snacks/lunch as he isn't sure how many of the stores will be stocked and open.

As far as food goes, their plan for now is to take things door to door to the folks they know that need it. Unfortunately they have seen some abusing the system while others who really need food aren't getting it. He said many people don't have cars so they aren't able to get to the distribution centers.

Thanks to everyone who is willing to help either with your time or with items or with monetary donations. This is the perfect opportunity to join together in our giving and to be His hands and feet.

Dick & Jane's restaurant is Mebane is also taking donations and we are working with them as well so hopefully we will have lots of donations to take by this weekend.

Please continue to be in prayer for our brothers and sisters."

North Carolina Hurricane Response Links and Information

District Disaster Response Coordinators and conference staff are working within their communities to establish plans and facilities for hosting Early Response Teams to help with flooded home clean up and tear outs.  In places where the water has receded, and travel is considered safe, the first response teams are arriving.

Hurricane Victims and Response

Yesterday's message focused on how all disciples are
Called to Give.  In response to that call, several people are helping to coordinate efforts to assist our sisters and brothers in Robeson County.  Adrienne Rice  and  Melessa Garrison
have agreed to help coordinate these efforts for us. Please see the left side of this email for more details about mission trips, needed items, and information from them.

Praying and serving with you for our community in 2016,
Pastor Kevin

FUMC seeks to be a Prayer-Saturated Church

The Prayer Team Ministry
@ FUMCG believes that it is God's call to saturate our congregational life and ministries with prayer. They desire to lead us as we all pray for our pastor, our church, ourselves, one another, and all that surrounds us. FUMCG has Prayer Teams in place that provide an opportunity for us to add to our daily prayers a specific topic. With our prayer topic rotations, every single one of these following topics is prayed for daily:

+ Pastor

+ Ministry of the Universal Church

+ FUMCG Staff

+ Ministry of FUMCG

+ Leaders of FUMCG

+ Laity of FUMCG

+ Government Leaders

+ Missions of FUMCG

+ Our Community

+ The Unchurched

+ Evangelism

+ Persons Serving Our Country

+ External Prayer Focus of the Week

If you are a new member or regular attendee at FUMCG and would like to be part of prayer team ministry, please contact Janis Cloyd at (919) 568-8078 or via email at [email protected]
