Dear Prayer Partners,
Another week of Royal Family Kids Camp is complete but this one was special. It was special because it was our first camp since the summer of 2019. It felt so good to be back with the kids we serve and to see how much many of them had grown.
While some things felt a little different having been away for almost 2 years, many things felt as if we just picked up where we left off. Fun times at the pond were had on the blob. Great activities and entertaining organized games were enjoyed by everyone all week. We had a great Bible teacher in Mr. Jeff and our Chapel and Kids Club sessions were top notch. Seeing our teen helpers work so hard this week was great to see. We loved seeing all of our grandparents and aunts and uncles roaming throughout camp encouraging the kids as they always do.
But the most important group this week serving these kids were our amazing counselors. We had many new faces (rookies) who were serving for their first time and some old-timers (not in age but experience) doing their 20th or more RFKC session. Watching them all week is very inspiring and makes the whole week worth it seeing the reaction of the kids. The kids LOVE their counselors. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all our wonderful counselors.
So we get a couple of weeks of rest (yeah right) and preparation before we are back at it for our 2nd session of RFKC. If you would like to volunteer (or know someone who would) for our July camp, here are some key dates:
-
Training - June 25-26 (if you have issues with this, please let me know)
- Session 2 - July 11-16
We especially need male counselors but there are other staff positions we need to fill as well. If you have an interest, please reply to this email and let me know. We would love to have you serve with us at Royal Family Kids Camp!
Thanks for your continued prayers all week.
Darren
