My dear Siblings in Christ Jesus,
News about the fires in Washington, so close to the anniversary of the Lahaina fire, stirs memories and a sense of solidarity. We know what the Diocese of Spokane is going through right now.
I urge you to give as you are able to support relief efforts. Donations can be made online at https://theepiscopaldioceseofspokane.churchcenter.com/giving/to/disaster-relief. Checks can be mailed and made payable to Diocese of Spokane with “disaster relief” in memo line:

Spokane, WA 99202
God’s people and congregations in the Diocese of Hawai’i are urged to pray for the Diocese of Spokane and for those affected by these devastating fires.
Loving God, our strength in times of despair, be with all those who have lost their homes to wildfire, comfort them in their distress, strengthen them for the journey ahead, and sustain them with your loving embrace, that they may find a sense of home once again. We ask this in the name of your son Jesus Christ, who heals the sick and restores the lost. – The Episcopal Diocese of Utah
Loving and merciful God, wherever we go, you are there with us; strengthen those who serve in the time of wildfire; buoy their spirit as they encounter despair; strengthen them as they comfort the displaced; and guide them as they guide others to safety and security. We ask this in the name of Jesus who is our strength and our safe place.– St. Paul’s, Ventura
Yours faithfully,
Bishop Bob
