Dear SoupMobile Prayer Team Warrior,

God bless you for being on the SoupMobile Prayer Team.

Here's a reminder of how it all works:

Every week the SoupMobile collects prayer requests from the homeless & others in need of prayer. Then every Monday Pastor Mike emails you a sampling of the current week's prayer requests.

Your mission is to pray over those prayer requests in the privacy of your own home. Your prayers are very much needed and appreciated. Remember you can also request prayer for yourself or for friends, family and loved ones. To request prayers, simply go to www.soupmobile.org and click on Need Prayer.

Prayer requests for the week of May 30, 2022

1. Kim & Eric: Please, we would like to ask Jesus’s help in finding a home of our own, as we are in danger of becoming homeless within the next month. We would very much appreciate the prayer warriors including us in their prayers, if possible. Thank you so much!

2. Mary: My heart is broken because of what happened in Uvalde, Texas. A young man purchased an assault rifle on his 18th Birthday and promptly went to Robb Elementary School and killed 19 children & 2 adults. This is the deadliest school shooting in Texas history. At least 17 others were injured in the shooting. Please pray for the surviving relatives--mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and all of Uvalde. Also pray for the injured that they would have a safe and speedy recovery.

SoupMobile Note: The headline on this story in the Dallas Morning News was: AGAIN! There is no denying the rising gun violence in America. Already in 2022 there have been #27 school shootings and #200 mass shootings.  Our hearts go out to all of the victims. Beyond that, many are trying to make sense of how an 18 year old is allowed to buy an assault weapon. We ‘get it’ that this issue is complicated and there are pros & cons on both sides of the gun issue. We ‘get it’ that there are no easy answers. We ‘get it' that this issue is not going away anytime soon. If we American’s ever needed to open up a respectful dialogue, this is it. We pray that our leaders and people from both sides of the table will make every effort to address this gun violence. We don’t pretend to have all the answers. However, we can say without hesitation that it’s time to come to the table without rancor and work ‘together’ to solve this problem. We need all of the adults in the room to step up to the plate and work towards an America that doesn’t have to wake up to headlines of innocent children being murdered. And let’s not forget the power of prayer. The Bible says we can do ‘ALL’ things thru Christ. When we come together to resolve this issue, lets make sure we invite Jesus to the table!

3. UKRAINE: Yes, we’ve got problems in America but let’s not forget the Russian aggression in the Ukraine which has now been going on for more than three months. Despite becoming a pariah in the world, Russian aggression continues. Innocent men, women & children continue to die and be displaced. It’s a modern-day version of David & Goliath.  Please join with us in prayer for the people of the Ukraine. Also pray for peace in the world. Our only hope continues to be in the Lord.

4. Peaches (her street name):   She is homeless and has taken up shelter in a local church. For now, she is safe and out of the elements. And while she is grateful to the sanctuary, she yearns for a ‘normal’ life with housing and a job. She has taken an important first step and now needs your prayers to make the necessary steps to get 100% out of homelessness.

5. Beata: (UPDATE): She is home from the hospital & slowly recovering. She needs ongoing supportive maintenance but is already doing better after being home just a couple of days. Your continued prayers are much needed. Also pray for her husband David D, who is her primary caregiver. He too needs your support and prayers.

6. Lucy:  She has 3 children and her husband walked out on them. For now, she and the kids are staying with her mother but that’s only a short-term solution. She asks for your prayers that the Lord will guide her as she deals with this mess.

7. Pastor David Timothy note: Many are feeling overwhelmed with what’s happening in the world. A lingering pandemic that just won’t go away; Russian aggression in the Ukraine; Global warming; Inflation; Gas prices in the stratosphere; Mass shootings and so much more. One of my parishioners asked me: Where is God? My answer is that he is right here. He never left. As a Pastor I believe our nation needs to return to the Lord. We need to get under his ‘Mother Hen’ wings. He is our pathway out. I remind you of 2 Chronicles: ‘If my people who are called by my name humble themselves & pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven & will forgive their sin & heal their land.’
