PRAYERS FOR SALLY & FAMILY

It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our General Secretary/CEO, Sally Vonner’s beloved son, Arvis “Wesley” Vonner II on Saturday, August 31, 2024 just before his 33rd birthday. Funeral service details will be shared when available.

Please join us in praying for Sally, her daughter Lessie, his dad Arvis, Sr. and their entire family during this difficult time. Please express your sentiments on this online Kudoboard instead of sending emails of condolences to Sally per her request.

Gift in Memory cards of support can be mailed to: Sally Vonner, United Women in Faith/CCUN, 777 United Nations Plaza, 11th floor, New York, NY 10017.

WHO WILL YOU BLESS?

Burning Candle

HONOR THE SPECIAL PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE . . . by donating to the Burning of the Candle to be celebrated at the final Annual Celebration gathering of the North Texas Conference United Women in Faith in October. Consider those women who have mentored and loved you over the years. Show your love and support for your friends and those you are mentoring.

By giving a gift of $20 to Burn the Candle in memory or honor of someone special you will be helping the North Texas Conference meet our pledge to mission. Your gift will be printed in the historic Last Annual meeting program book that can be shared with those you have honored.

Abide in square-white

We chose Abide for our '24 Mission Project because they are improving the disparities in maternal health here in our North Texas community. Read the recent Dallas Morning News article about women's healthcare in Texas. Your support will help Abide reach more families and improve birth outcomes right here in the DFW area. You can

  • Help provide what Abide needs by shopping online or locally
  • Create hand-made Baby Items: Will you crochet a baby hat?

Bring your items to fall Annual Mtg. Lists & donation form on our website.

Lets talk about it

Common Concerns for All of Us

This is an opportunity for individuals and groups to have important and respectful conversations about concerns and values we share. It's time for Texans to talk about reproductive health policy -- but how does one start? Texas Impact has developed the Common Concerns program in collaboration with policy experts, physicians, attorneys, and legislators from both sides of the aisle.

Are you ready to start the conversation? You may participate by leading a Listening Circle or joining a bipartisan discussion. Click to learn more and preview the discussion guide.

Resources to learn new Social Principles

GET TO KNOW NEW SOCIAL PRINCIPLES

The Social Principles reflect the United Methodist response to today’s most pressing social issues. Study resources are now available. Use cards for personal study or to facilitate small group discussions. Explore ways to move from discussion to advocacy, moving faith into action.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANNUAL REPORT!

If you haven't yet sent yours, YES, we still want it! Please complete and submit the Annual Report for your local group online or contact your District President. The information is needed before your coming District and Conference Annual Meetings (awards, etc).

NOTE: Contact your District President for a paper form.
