Last Call for Mission Engagement Trip to Guatemala

The presbytery’s mission trip to Guatemala in April has room for two more people. Join with colleagues in Peaks Presbytery April 15-22 and dive into in Guatemala. Explore what God is doing and how you can be a part of it. Financial assistance is available.  Learn more on the presbytery website. Contact Mary Jane Winter (804-475-2201) for answers to specific questions or to sign up.

Encourage Older Adults in Your Congregation to Join the Ageism and Spirituality Retreat

Events like this provide valuable opportunities for fellowship for older adults. As seniors’ ability to drive changes, they may lose connections with friends and peers. Consider organizing a carpool to help your congregation members participate and meet folks from churches across the presbytery. A discounted rate is available for groups of five or more. The event’s informative speakers will educate about age bias and developing your spiritual life through nature. The event on April 18 is sponsored by the presbytery’s Older Adult Ministry and Camp Hanover.

Pastoral Updates in the Presbytery

We celebrate these new pastoral relationships:

  • Rev. Arch Wallace and Brandermill Church
  • Rev. Crystal Varner Parker and Providence Force Church

God, bless and lead Arch and Crystal and these congregations as they build new connections in your service.

Also, Rev. Jim Moseley retired as full-time pastor at Campbell Memorial Church in October. The congregation recently held a farewell reception for Jim and his wife, Dr. Susan Moseley, as they prepare to move to North Carolina to be closer to family. We wish them well in their new community.

Celebrate a New Creation at Massanetta's 2024 Bible Conference

Registration for Massanetta’s Bible and Church Music Conference 2024 is open. Come together July 21-27 with fellow clergy, lay leaders, staff, volunteers, and congregants to learn, practice, and worship. The 2024 theme is “A New Creation,” examining visions of hope in Revelation and beyond. Register by March 25 to receive a $40 discount.

Into The Church Triumphant

Please pray for healing for the Kaufman family as they lay to rest their daughter and sister, Maggie Joy. Maggie is the seven-year-old child of Evan and Kelly, covenant pastor at Tabor Church and previously at Olivet and River Road. A memorial service will be held March 16 at 11 a.m. at First Church in Charlottesville. Cards may be sent to the family in care of Tabor Church, 5804 Tabor Street, Crozet, VA 22932.

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
