In my recent report to you as DS, at our 114th District Assembly, I reported that by God's grace the Metro New York District, ground zero for COVID, lost no pastors to that dreaded disease. Many, if not most of us, believed that would be our story.

Today, I share with you that Pastor Pedro Romero, for whom we've been praying, passed quietly into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Monday morning. I believe, as do you, that Pastor Pedro had the most glorious of "Welcome home my good and faithful servant. Well done!" from the Christ who saved and sanctified him. We rejoice that his earthly body is healed, and his soul present with Jesus and the saints that have gone before him.
Pastor Pedro leaves his loving partner since 2006, Tammy. He also leaves his four children: Vanessa (12), Pedro (10), Victoria (8), and Ricardo (6). His friends, and his church family, join with the Metro District mourning his loss and pledging to help this family through weeks and the years ahead.

Pastor Pedro leaves a hole in the next generation of preachers coming up on the Metro New York District. But he leaves a legacy of preaching the Gospel so that others, through his words and testimony, discovered the joy of salvation that was his.

Join me in this prayer for our friend...

Almighty God, we remember this day before you thy faithful servant Pastor Pedro Romero and we pray that having opened to him the gates of larger life, you will receive him more and more into your joyful service, that, with all who have faithfully served you in the past, he may share in the eternal victory of Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Love Always,

Pastor Sam
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
