Baptist Women's World Day of Prayer

2025 represents the 75th anniversary of this global movement, and we praise God for this legacy of impact. We are focusing our hearts and minds on the theme "Living the Good News" taken from Luke 4:18-19. In a world where many remain unreached with the Gospel, we have both an opportunity and a responsibility to live the Good News in our homes, churches, communities, and countries. Join with sisters and brothers worldwide on Monday, November 3, or a day of your choosing for this strategic time of prayer.

Praying for the Caribbean
Responding to Hurricane Melissa

The BWA calls the global Baptist family to pray for our sisters and brothers across the Caribbean who are affected by Hurricane Melissa. Communities in several nations are facing significant challenges, and we stand together in prayer, trusting in God’s faithfulness and care for all.

Pray for those affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Please lift in prayer the people and communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa, especially those in the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, and the Turks and Caicos Islands, and other affected areas. Many are facing damage to homes and livelihoods. Pray that God will provide comfort, strength, and hope as families and churches work to rebuild and recover. Pray for protection over families, provision for those in need, and strength for local churches offering help and hope. Lift up prayers as well for relief from mosquito-borne diseases and for stability of electrical systems. May Baptist congregations be a witness of Christ’s compassion and care in times of hardship.

Pray for first responders and relief workers.

We thank God for the courage and commitment of first responders, emergency personnel, and humanitarian teams serving throughout the Caribbean. Pray for their safety, stamina, and wisdom as they provide rescue, relief, and care. May the Holy Spirit strengthen them and surround them with protection as they bring hope to others.

Pray for creation care and environmental stewardship.

As we witness the growing impact of storms and natural disasters, let us ask God to deepen our awareness and responsibility for the care of creation. Pray for leaders, communities, and churches to take action to protect our lands, seas, and ecosystems. May we be faithful stewards of the earth entrusted to us, reflecting God’s glory through our care for all creation.

Please pray for Caribbean Baptist Fellowship Leadership.
Pray for Anslem Warrick, Executive Secretary/Treasurer of the Caribbean Baptist Fellowship. Pray that God would grant him wisdom, discernment, and strength as he provides leadership and support to churches and communities affected by Hurricane Melissa. Ask for protection over his health and well-being and for guidance in coordinating relief efforts and resources for those facing damage, loss, and uncertainty. May God bless his leadership, sustain his spirit, and empower him to be a faithful witness of Christ’s love, hope, and compassion during this challenging time. Pray for other Baptist leaders across the Caribbean as they stand with Rev. Warrick in prayer and action during this time.

Pray for a spirit of giving.

We invite the global Baptist family to pray for generosity and a spirit of giving in response to this disaster. May God inspire churches and individuals to share resources, time, and support so that together we can bring relief, hope, and restoration to those affected. As one family in Christ, we have the opportunity to respond with compassion and solidarity, demonstrating God’s love in tangible ways.

A Prayer of Praise

Blessed are you, God of the Universe.

you have created us and given us life.

Blessed are you, God of the planet earth.

You have set our world like a radiant jewel in the heavens,

and filled it with action, beauty, suffering, struggle and hope.

Blessed are you, God of Aotearoa/New Zealand,

in all the peoples who live there,

in all the lessons they have learned,

in all that remains for them to do.

Blessed are you because you need us;

because you make us worthwhile,

because you give us people to love

and work to do

for your universe, for your world, and for ourselves.
