BWA General Secretary and CEO Elijah Brown was blessed to serve alongside BWA Trustee Samaresh Nayak and other Baptist leaders in India last month.

General Secretary Brown and Mark Wilson, former President of the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation, traveled to India in November 2022 to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council.

Women in India unite in a circle of intercession for the Baptist Women's World Day of Prayer.

BWA General Secretary Elijah Brown and Asia Pacific Baptist Federation General Secretary Vee Tetseo served alongside sisters and brothers in India during a multisite visit earlier in 2024.

Praise:

We give thanks for the leaders – including pastors, associational, and convention leaders – of all 25 member partners in India. We give praise for their outreach among men, women, and youth and for the ways the family of God is growing. We thank God for their missional hearts. We also praise the Lord for continual protection and care even during challenging times.

Prayer:

We join together in praying for the unreached. We pray that God would open doors for the Gospel and that Christ's light would reach every community. Pray for the raising up of younger missional leaders who will carry forward God’s mission with faith, courage, and passion. Pray that all member associations, churches, and communities may faithfully carry out God’s mission in their respective contexts. Please pray for access to theological education and for a fresh spiritual revival in all churches.

Please also join us in prayer for the people of Pakistan and for the growth of Baptist witness there.

Praising God for Virginia Baptists

BWA Chair Karl Johnson and members of the BWA Team were blessed to serve at the Baptist General Association of Virginia Annual Meeting in Abingdon, Virginia, last week. We are grateful for the long history of partnership with Virginia Baptists and for all the ways God is at work through their cooperative of more than 1,300 churches. Thank you also for standing with our sisters and brothers in Jamaica as they begin the process of rebuilding in the wake of Hurricane Melissa – your generosity is making an eternal impact!

Stand with the Caribbean

This Sunday, November 23 – or during any upcoming worship service that suits your church – we invite you to join Baptists around the world in prayer and in solidarity with those affected by Hurricane Melissa. As the BWA mobilizes aid across the Caribbean, your partnership through prayer, giving, and advocacy can bring real hope to families who are hurting. We encourage you to consider taking a special offering to shine Christ’s light during these dark days and to download our prayer guide to lift up the needs of those who are suffering.

A Prayer from Pakistan

O Creator and Mighty God,

you have promised

strength for the weak,

rest for the labourers,

light for the way,

grace for the trials,

help from above,

unfailing sympathy,

undying love.

O Creator and Mighty God,

help us to continue in your promise.
