Praying for Unreached People Groups

Thank you for joining us this week as we at the Baptist World Alliance pray for our global Baptist family and for God's work around the world. If you pray along with us weekly, you will pray for every country in the world in 2026.

Praises and prayer requests listed for each country are provided by local BWA member partners when possible. Statistics provided are reflective of latest data received.

Unreached People Groups

Of the 8 billion people in the world today, 3.5 billion live with little or no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is estimated that there are more than 17,000 unique people groups with 7,200+ considered unreached – a staggering 43% of the global population.

Praise:

We give thanks for Baptist sisters and brothers who are living out the Great Commission in their communities around the world and for the many who have joined the BWA's Acts 2 Movement to take the Gospel from our neighborhoods to the nations.

Prayer:

We join in prayer for the Spirit to move in power as we unite in a passionate commitment to be "witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

In light of the ongoing political, social, and humanitarian challenges facing Venezuela, the Baptist World Alliance invites Baptists and people of faith around the world to unite in prayerful solidarity with the Venezuelan people and the churches who serve among them. As a global Baptist family, we affirm that prayer is both an act of faith and a commitment to stand with those who suffer.

A Prayer for the Unreached

O Lord, we desperately need You to soften our hearts for those who do not know you, and place strong conviction on us to be used for your will.

Help us yearn for the lost as you do, Lord, and allow our hearts to ache for those who need to hear the gospel. As you faithfully send the workers into the fields to harvest, may the seeds fall upon soft and fertile soil. We graciously ask that you open the unreachedpeople’s minds and soften their hearts as they receive the good news.

In your time, please chart a way for these beloved people to become disciples who spread your name among their communities.

We humbly ask this in your precious name.
