Salsa musicians Cheo Feliciano, Rub�n Blades, Roberto Roena and Calle 13, as well as rapper Tego Calder�n, pay homage to Tite Curet Alonso in the 2011 Banco Popular Special that covers the emblematic work of this Puerto Rican composer. The special is both a documentary about Curet’s life (1926-2003) and a musical show with songs like "Vale m�s un guaguanc�", by Blades; "Barrunto" (Feliciano); "Sobre una tumba humilde" (Rodr�guez); "Peri�dico de ayer" (Portoundo); "Marejada feliz" (La 33); "Mi triste problema" (Rivera), "Con los pobres estoy" (Calder�n) and "Sorongo" by Calle 13. Available in CD (Nov. 14) and DVD (Dec. 5). The special will be broadcast in Puerto Rico on Dec. 4th. |
