Greetings!

With producers cellar doors reopening after the summer, I am placing a few pre-shipment orders to secure stock of wines that I believe will make excellent drinking over the coming months, although they will age well for many years. I wanted to give you an opportunity to grab some for yourself before they are shipped next month.

To start with, here are three superb red burgundies that caught my attention when I tasted them about this time last year. The 12 months since in bottle would have only benefited the wines further and I'm looking forward to trying them again soon.

These three wines fall into the under-the-radar category for me and will offer even the most die-hard burgundy enthusiasts delicious and attractively priced wines.

Prices are quoted as cases of six 75cl bottles including VAT. Delivery dates will be confirmed once the wines have been shipped in early October. Delivery charges apply for orders less than £250 - typically £15 for most UK addresses. Limited availability.

Please take a look at the wines below and let me know if you would like to place an order.

Best regards
Karl

Santenay Les Hates 2018 Domaine Franck Lamargue
Franck Lamargue has been running this 12 hectare family domaine since 2005. He farms all the vineyards organically, harvesting is by hand and there is a judicious use of old and new oak to age the wines. This Santenay is from a parcel of vines that are located literally in the centre of the village and sandwiched between two premier crus (1er Cru Beaurepaire to its north and 1er Cru Passetemps & Clous Faubard to its South)This is a lovely fresh and succulent Pinot Noir, made from a seriously under-valued appellation bordering St-Aubin & Chassagne-Montrachet. Drink now-2025.

Mercurey Vieilles Vignes 2018, Domaine Theulot Juillot
Here's another fine family estate, this time in the Côte Chalonnaise and one that gets plenty of mentions here and in the press. This is a blend of fruit from some of Natalie Theulot's oldest vines. It's rich and generous on the palate with lovely red and black fruits. Utterly seductive with a silky texture even now. Drink now-2025.

£146 per case of 6 inc vat
Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017, Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini
This outstanding producer in Gevrey Chambertin has been transformed since Florence Heresztyn and her husband Simon Mazzini took over in 2012 and is now regarded as one of the finest estates in the village. Looking back at my notes, I had written in caps WOW! when I first tasted this wine 18 months ago. This comes from vines within the commune of Gevrey Chambertin. Aged in three and four year old barrels to preserve the maximum of fruit. A delicious, juicy wine with masses of fresh berry fruit. A fraction of the price of their other wines, which makes it a great introduction to this fine estate. Drink now-2023.

£175 per case of 6 inc VAT
