Praise God, Leah “Zhanna” Pagador has finally reunited with her relatives. Leah was referred to Precious Heritage Children’s Home last 2018 by CSWD Antipolo through Senator Raffy Tulfo for temporary shelter. Zsanna was abandoned by her biological mother who was convicted several times due to illegal drugs. Zhanna grew up with her paternal aunt with her live-in partner. On May 2, 2018, Zhanna was then 5 years old and 2 months when she was admitted at Precious Heritage Children’s Home for proper case disposition. Leah was detailed and quite smart as she was able to narrate what happened to her and the people whom she met including Mr. Tulfo. The child’s birth mother also admitted that she was using prohibited drugs prior to her pregnancy.
Every child is entitled to protection and to grow with a family. Zsanna is longing to have a complete family. She has been used to having a family atmosphere that her sudden experience of being placed in a social institution has resulted to some sort of negative perceptions. Although the center, through its services, strives to meet the children’s needs and contribute to their holistic development, being in a family will be more beneficial in the long run.
Sometime in 2023, our Social Worker was able to contact Zsanna’s maternal grandmother through a social media platform and was able to introduce Zsanna to her, and the latter is very excited to meet and be reunited with her grandma. Our Social Worker requested a Parental Capability Assessment through DSWD to her grandparents and finally recommended to reunite Zsanna with them. Around June 2024, our team flew to General Santos City to bring Zsanna so they could live with them permanently. The meeting has been very bittersweet as her grandmother gladly received Zsanna and brought her to their hometown as the official discharge slip of Precious Heritage Children’s Home was signed by CSWD Koronadal City who also assisted them to their home place.
