QuickBooks recognizes that every organization is unique, so your copy of QuickBooks can be customized in ways that make it work best for you. Setting up preferences and reminders now will save you time in the long run.

You could just dive in and start adding records and transactions; however, we recommend you do some setup first. If you don't, you may run into some issues later, such as finding that some features you need haven't been turned on or that QuickBooks is simply not doing some things the way you do. The good news is that you can change many of these later.   Setting Preferences

SUNSET - 2014 QB EXPIRING?
 
On May 31, 2017, Intuit will discontinue support for QuickBooks Financial Pro, Premier, QuickBooks for Mac 2014, and QB Enterprise 2014. You can continue to use these solutions, of course, but Intuit live technical support and add-on services like payroll, credit card processing, online banking and bill-pay are no longer accessible. We will continue to support all versions but recommend that you upgrade when you can.
