Driver Conduct HF40

Why we need Driver Conduct Rules: It is our goal to make the Lime Rock Historic Festival enjoyable and safe. If we do not all play by the same rules, then problems occur. By establishing rules of conduct, we all know how we are expected handle on track decisions. Friday Night Participant Dinner and Cocktail Party

We have a terrific panel focusing on the Glory Days of the Trans Am Series. Three panelists are Chuck Cantwell, Dorsey Schroeder, and Judy Stropus. Mike Joy is the moderator.

Chuck was the project manager for Shelby America from the start of Trans Am through 1968 when he left to become manager of Penske Racing. He was responsible for the early Trans Am race cars and all the production cars and was also one of two test drivers, along with Jerry Titus.

Dorsey Schroeder was a two-time Trans Am champion and Judy Stropus was the timer for Penske Racing through the Trans-Am years beginning in 1969. Mike Joy, prominent FOX NASCAR television commentator and former Lime Rock promoter is racing in the Historic Trans Am race.

Each driver will receive two entries to the Friday Participant Dinner – driver plus one guest – who will be checked off the list at the entrance to the party.

Corvette Design: Past, Present...and a Hint of the Future.

We have twelve of GM’s most significant Corvette Concept Cars and twenty (20) important competition cars coming for the weekend, plus a large display of significant production Corvettes on Sunday. The head of design at General Motors worldwide and his predecessor will be part of a panel focused on Corvette design. Cost $100 per person. Piston Foundation Award NEW IN 2022!

Piston Technician Award to be Presented by The Piston Foundation.

The Piston Technician Award recognizes the essential contribution auto technicians make to the collector car community through their trade skills and technical automotive expertise. Often the unsung heroes of the race track, the Piston Technicians Award acknowledges the hard work and commitment of technicians to keep a car running at peak performance.

The very first Piston Technician Award will be presented to the most valuable race technician of the weekend in a pit lane ceremony during the Saturday lunch break at the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival 40.

Racers, please submit your nominations for the Piston Technician Award. Stop by the Piston Foundation booth on the midway or speak with Mayo Smith or Kent Bain at the Vintage Racing Services tent in Paddock A. Learn more at www.pistonfoundation.org.
