Kim’s 3-run homer lifts Korea past USA
Tokyo, Japan – Korea defeated today USA, 5-1, for the Super Round of the Premier12 in the first game played at the Tokyo Dome, moved its record to 2-0 and remain unbeaten in the tournament. The US team outhit Korea 13-9 but wasn’t able to produce with runners in scoring position, leaving 14 runners on base.
Japan comes from behind, defeats brave Australia
Tokyo, Japan – Japan defeated Australia, 3-2, and keeps cruising undefeated in the WBSC Premier12. The world No. 7 Australians didn't let Samurai Japan have an easy debut on home turf. Australia took an early lead and gave it up only on a two-out bunt that scored pinch hitter Ukyo Shuto from third.
Mexico shuts-out Chinese Taipei, stays undefeated
Tokyo, Japan – Mexico defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0 to keep their perfect record after game 1 of the WBSC Premier12 Super Round. Mexico broke the tie in the bottom of the fifth, when veteran catcher Alì Solis homered off starter Chiang Shao-Ching.
