Monthly News & Updates

November 2025 | Issue 48

Welcome to the Every Brain Matters monthly newsletter. We are a non-profit organization founded by families negatively impacted by commercial marijuana. We are dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the challenges of marijuana normalization.

Through education, advocacy, and community building, we strive to ensure that no one faces this journey alone. Join us as we work together to make informed choices and promote understanding because every brain truly matters!

*Throughout this newsletter, the terms “marijuana” and “cannabis” are used interchangeably.

Before you continue scrolling, take a moment to click on this link from Smart Approaches to Marijuana and urge Congress to take action against intoxicating hemp products. Your voice matters—let's bring safety and health to our communities and families!

Advocacy In Action

Every Brain Matters is not just an organization; it is a national movement of families united to educate communities and advocate for change with a network of organizations. Please join us at the meeting listed below.

Moment of Science

Through our Dispensing Truth project, Every Brain Matters equips communities with the latest science-based tools to challenge marijuana misinformation using appealing graphics and clear facts. The following graphics are available for free and linked to the resources.

The Voices of Marijuana's Harms

Misconceptions about marijuana as a "harmless substance" remain pervasive. Our mission is to empower the public and government officials with real stories from families who’ve experienced marijuana's devastating effects. Please read our latest story and learn more about this project here.

Hope For Recovery

We understand that families often feel isolated in a world where marijuana use is becoming increasingly normalized. Supporting a loved one who is affected by marijuana can be overwhelming. To assist you, we have created recovery resources for families that will help you navigate this new era of widespread marijuana use. We aim to help you discover healing pathways, gain valuable recovery tools, and build healthier relationships. We invite you to attend our family support meetings and utilize the resources available to you. All the meetings we offer are located under the meeting tab on our website.

On November 12, we will feature Bryn Spejcher, who survived cannabis-induced psychosis. Click the images below to register for the meetings..

On December 10, we will feature Mary M., who is actively engaged in a strong recovery program despite the challenges that cannabis has posed for her family.

Moment of Silence

The Every Brain Matters Memorial is a place of honor, healing, and remembrance. We celebrate the lives of those we’ve lost and stand with the families and friends who carry their love forward. By sharing these stories, we break isolation, reduce stigma, and help others find hope and support.

Our memorial publicly remembers the life-changing effects of marijuana and serves as a reminder of why we continue this critical fight.

If you’d like to add your loved one to the Memorial, we welcome their story—in your words. Please share a photo, a favorite memory, and anything that captures who they are. Please reach out to us to submit your tribute at this link, and we’ll be honored to include it.

Your voice is essential and may inspire change in others. Together, we can advocate for a better future.
