Fond Memories of School Supply Shopping!
No matter how you shop, be it online or at a local store, buying school supplies creates special moments for our children and for us. My kids are now grown and though I no longer shop for their school supplies, I do shop for other children and donate items to Prepare for Success. And guess what.....I still get that special shopping moment
These special moments can not be taken for granted.
We can't forget that so many children (living in Howard County and specifically in Oakland Mills) will not have these special moments. They will not have the opportunity to go shopping for the perfect backpack or pens and won't have the big decisions to make regarding the color or design of their folders and pencil holders.
We need to make sure that EVERY child has that special moment for the start of the 2019-2020 school year.

Learning is challenging under the best of circumstances.
By providing children the supplies their families cannot afford, you remove the disadvantage of their not having what they need to learn and of not fitting in with their classmates. You remove their anxiety of being a burden to their family. You help them prepare to succeed - in school and in life."
A school supply bin is located at The Other Barn. Let's fill the bin with wonderful supplies.
Supplies can be dropped of during Oakland Mills office hours - Mon. - Fri. 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
