Aloha Kakou,

This Tuesday, August 7th, Hawai'i County Council meets in Committees and public input through testimony in support of the economic recovery of Paho a, Volcano Village, and Puna is vital. Please consider testifying at either Council Chambers in Hilo or at Council Four office in Pahoa. Council NEEDS to hear what we have to say if we are to successfully advance our economic recovery.

There are two Committee meetings that are relevant to the economic recovery:
The first is the Planning Committee meeting which convenes at 9:00am. The item is number 8 on the Planning Agenda.
* 8. Comm. 1012: Discussion: concerns from representatives of Leilani Subdivision, Pāhoa & Volcano Business Communities re eruption and County's management of emergency declaration
The second is Governmental Relations and Economic Development Committee which will convene at approximately 11:00am. The most relevant is number 14 on the Agenda. I also believe that number 15 should be supported as well, the naming of Fissure 8.

* 14. Comm. 1017: Discussion on Eruption Recovery Efforts & Proposed Legislative Package, Mayor Harry Kim
