Be smart and prepare for winter storms

Winter is upon us! There's more snow followed by sub-zero temperatures forecast in the coming days. Make sure you are prepared! Find winter storm safety information along with tips for home and travel here. Also check out safety tips for extreme cold here.

With several inches of snow predicted, remember to help out a neighbor in need if you're healthy and able to. Also remember to check on elderly, and clear snow around fire hydrants - every second counts in an emergency!

Snow and extreme temperatures can impact school schedules. Make sure to check your school district websites and look for communications from them regarding any delays, closures or early releases prior to and during weather events.

Join the chorus that cares

The BG Singers are excited to begin their 29th season, and now is your chance to to join the "chorus that cares!" Open auditions for experienced choral singers will be held Tuesday, January 16 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Community Arts Center, located at 225 McHenry Road. For more information or to sign up for an audition slot, contact Linda Rosen at lrosen@bgparks.org. Rehearsals begin in April with the group's 2024 performances planned for late September.
