Good Morning -

I hope this message finds you well and that you are settling into a routine for the fall semester.

With the term underway, we wanted to address upcoming break periods, when our communities close, and what options exist for the Winter Break.

Fall Break

October 12-15, 2023

Thanksgiving Break

November 22-26, 2023

Winter Break

December 18, 2023 -

January 16, 2024

Our communities are open for Fall Break and Thanksgiving Break (looking ahead we are also open during Spring Break). Our communities close over Winter Break unless you are moving into Winter Break Housing. For more details on when our communities open or close please review the dates posted here.

As a reminder, our residential communities will close for the fall semester at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 17. However, the University is offering housing for students who have a need for housing for the entirety of the break. Students who only need a few nights of housing at the start or end of the break should make their own off-campus housing arrangements via hotel, short-term rentals, etc. Additionally, students should be aware that there will be reduced University services during Winter Break (including dining). The University will be closed from December 25 through January 2.

We will allow students who currently live in apartment-style housing (Deacon Place, Polo, North Campus Apartments, Student Apartments) to remain in place for their break housing. Students living in other housing types will relocate to vacant rooms for the winter break period. Please note that the location for winter break housing is to be determined and may be situated at an off-campus location.

The charge for winter break housing will be $1,050; this charge will be posted to your student account and be payable via DEAC. For assistance with payment or account questions, please contact Student Financial Services. Students receiving need-based financial aid who are approved to reside on campus over winter break may request assistance to support this charge by emailing Student Financial Aid at finaid@wfu.edu.

To request winter break housing, please submit a request in the Housing Portal at go.wfu.edu/housingportal (under Housing) before 9 a.m. EST on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact our team at housing@wfu.edu or 336-758-5185.

Thank you,
