Preparing for Hurricane Ian
Please find the following important notices and information that will help you and your practice prepare for Hurricane Ian, predicted to reach landfall as early as Thursday AM:

Emergency Rx Refills
Governor Ron DeSantis has issued Executive Order 22-219 which allows for early prescription refills due to the declared State of Emergency that will remain in effect until officially rescinded or it expires.  CLICK HERE to read the specifics from the Florida Department of Health website.

Medicaid Provider Updates

Practice Hurricane Preparedness
As located under the FAFP.org Resources page, the Agency for Health Quality Research provides extensive resources for physicians and their practices regarding hurricane preparedness. Please do not delay to have a plan and take the necessary precautions to ensure you and your team prepare for Hurricane Ian and any others during the 2022 storm season.  

Hurricane Response
The FAFP has been in contact with partner organizations nationally (e.g., the AAFP Foundation) regarding hurricane response and relief efforts in the event of potential storm damage to family medicine practices in Florida. More information will be provided as necessitated in the coming days.
