February 2023

What is the Canadian way to find a job? What is the Canadian work culture like? What do Canadian employers look for in a resume and what opportunities exist? These are some of the questions newcomers ask themselves.

Our programs provide access to Canadian institutions, professionals and recruiters who can answer those questions. Through networking events, volunteer opportunities, workshops and job fairs, our goal is to help every newcomer start a career path and their new Canadian life.

Connecting Canadians to New Canadians

Over years of services we have met people from different cultures, each bringing their own personal and professional experiences. What they have in common is being new to the country. Every newcomer can do with a little help through their settlement process, and our programs provide just that. Our Mentorship program connects newcomers to people that are willing and able to offer guidance and support to new Canadians. Read more.

March Break Career Exploration Week

Newcomer Youth are invited to discover potential career paths this March Break at our Youth Centre! Our Career Exploration Week will give them not only the opportunity to meet with representatives from educational institutions, professionals and potential employers, but also to improve their resumes and interview skills with the help of our staff.

Visit Career Exploration Week for more information and to register.

Partnership Spotlight

Our Community Connections Mentorship Program offers a unique opportunity for newly landed professionals to connect with existing Canadian professionals in a safe and relaxed space. During a Networking event, a very committed team of volunteers share their time, ideas and experience with our newcomer clients. Over 10 years ago a community partnership began with CIBC, and they have graciously gifted us their talents year after year. Thank you CIBC!

Through Career Mentoring events, CultureLink offers newcomers personalized support and recommendations for their job search. Registered clients are invited to networking and informational interview events, and/or they get matched with a long-term mentor who will offer guidance and support for 3-6 months.

Newcomers can Register for this and other Mentorship events.
