About the Program

In this practical program, you will learn how to deliver compelling oral arguments in appellate and trial courts. Oral arguments are your last chance to persuade a court or arbitrator that your position is right. This program will equip you with the skills to do that

 

During this program, you will learn:


  • How to prepare for oral argument or a court hearing in the trial court.
  • What is the most important thing you can do right or wrong in oral argument.
  • How to present your argument in the most compelling manner.
  • What is the first thing to do in oral argument.
  • Things never to say in oral argument.
  • How to force your opponent to argue on your terms.
  • What to do before and after oral argument.

BHBA's programs also meet the CLE eligibility criteria in Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii and New Hampshire. Attorneys must individually apply for credit and, if mandated by the state, submit accreditation fees directly.
