In accordance with the law, every school district in South Carolina is required to identify third-grade students who are not proficient in reading on their grade level. These students must be given the chance to attend a summer reading camp. The summer reading camps will be led by highly qualified teachers who have experience in working with struggling readers. Students will have the opportunity to receive individual and small group instruction to improve their reading, writing, listening, and researching skills. Each school will identify and inform the students who have been selected for this program. Not accepting the invitation may lead to the student being held back in the third grade.
Summer STEAM Program (available for K-8th grade) (begins Summer 2024)
The students of Jasper County have a wonderful opportunity to explore arts through STEAM with our Summer STEAM Program, which is provided in partnership with Engaging Creative Minds, Arts Grow SC, SC Arts Commission and the SC Department of Education. The summer camp is open to students from Kindergarten to eighth grade. During the camp, students will be engaged in weekly innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) learning experiences. They will work with certified teachers and STEAM professionals to design and produce projects, experiments, and unique art. The specific dates for the camp have not yet been determined. Keep an eye out for the announcement to sign up for this exciting summer camp.

Saturday Academy (begins Fall 2024) Every Other Saturday of Each Month
Saturday Academy is an excellent opportunity for students in Grades 3 to 8, as well as those enrolled in End of Course Assessments, to receive targeted academic support in small group instruction. The aim is to help students who are below grade level improve academically and avoid possible grade-level retention.
After School Programs (begins Fall 2024) (available at all schools for grades 3rd-12th )
The JCSD Academic/Enrichment After-School Program is open to all students from 1st to 11th grade. The program runs from Monday to Thursday every week and provides academic instruction and support in the areas of Reading, Math, and End-of-Course content.
Jasper County School District is dedicated to meeting the academic needs of all scholars and addressing the learning loss caused by Covid-19. The Academic After-School Program is an additional form of support that aims to support our Academic Recovery efforts in the district.
Each school has designed an after-school program tailored to target each student's individual academic needs, using student data. During the after-school program, certified teachers will provide intensive intervention, academic instruction, answer questions, and offer resources to support student success.

To request transportation services from the Jasper County School District, you must first complete the registration process. You can do this either online or in-person at either the Hardeeville or Ridgeland Campuses. The registration dates for in-person registration are listed in the registration section above.
As part of the registration process, you will need to complete a transportation form. It is important to ensure that your transportation request includes your home address, which must be verified by the necessary residency documents. Additionally, the pick-up and drop-off locations must be the same address.
If you require Special Education transportation, you will need to contact the JCSD Special Services department first. Your student will need to receive an IEP, and the Special Education team will send your Special Education transportation plan to the transportation department.
