Making music during a pandemic isn’t the same. Nothing is the same for any of us. But because a musician’s job is to play with others and for others, this pandemic can be particularly spirit crushing. Working from home is not an option for most musicians. So, I have been fortunate enough to be able to make music at home for my congregation...

Holiday Wish Tree
With the holidays fast approaching we have a couple of families in the need of some special Christmas cheer. One thing that always impresses me is how generous our church families are towards those who could use a little extra.

Thank you to many who have returned their cards. You have been a great help to meet our ministry goals for 2021.

If you haven’t returned your intent card yet, a second mailing is coming your way.

  • We ask you to pray about your response and return your card no matter your financial situation, giving intent, or level of contribution.
  • We encourage every household to return their intent card even if nothing is changing or if you mark “give as able.”
  • Doing this lets us know how you are supporting the ministry of CtK.

Hey, Church Ladies!
In January of 2021, the No Basement Church Ladies will be going on “Journeys with Angels” the next study included in the first issue of Gather magazine for the New Year. Gather magazine is put together and shared by the Women of the ELCA and it’s what we have chosen to study. We are finding this magazine encouraging, enlightening and uplifting. Each study includes prayer, songs (we don’t always know these 😁), Bible passages and engaging questions.
We do enjoy discussing, sharing concerns and laughing and playing and praying together each Saturday morning. We gather online at about 8:30 a.m. and usually round things up between 9:30 and 9:45.
We’d love to have more women come and take part! Some of us attend each week and others once or twice each month.
So, if you like to come but can’t do each week, that’s ok, we’d just love to have you with us!! Email Denise Barnaal at buttongrl@new.rr.com for more information.

Advent Bible Study
Tuesdays, December 15, 22) - 6:30pm
During Advent, a midweek discussion group around Mark’s gospel will be provided. Pastor Judy has prepared short videos to watch and discuss. Pastor Chuck will lead the discussion preparation for the coming of Christ’s birth.

Support Group for Caregivers with Loved Ones in Care Facilities
During this challenging time, we recognize the need for support for caregivers that may be unable to see their loved ones. Fox Valley Memory Project is starting a support group specifically for caregivers who have loved ones in care facilities. This is an open group and attendees are welcome to join at any time without registration. This group will start out taking place over Zoom until it is deemed safe to return to in-person programming. Join us the 2nd Thursday of each month at 12 PM.

Start your holiday shopping here with Scrip. We have it available during the Covid-19 pandemic. Please contact Aubrey by email or phone to let her know what you would like by Tuesday. Scrip that we have on hand will be ready for you to pick up on Thursday. If we do not have it on hand, we will order it and let you know when it comes in. Pickup would be 8:00-1:00 Mon-Thur. Please bring exact amount as we will not have change on hand.
