The Zegers Godteens group (St. Vincent de Paul Church-Seward) wanted to donate an item to help out the Copley family. A Milford family whose lives were significantly changed following a plane crash this fall. As a group we decided we could use our time & talents to the benefit auction since we didn't have much time to put a gift basket together. We invited the other Milford groups to join us for more man power. The Henleys sent some kids and Julie Kroese helped out with a couple from her group. Our 2 hours of donated manual labor was purchased by The Hauder family, local farmers. In that time we installed 60 fence posts for a new corral. We had a cold front come through on our scheduled work day. The temperature was in the 20's with snow and blustery winds. Despite the temperatures we all survived with the help of hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Hauders afterwards. They were very appreciative & extremely satisfied with the work we provided. They said our two hours of labor saved them 2-3 weeks of work. Us leaders were proud of the tenacity and hard work the kids demonstrated with very little complaint. We are truly blessed.
