  • NEW PW LOGO
Please note our beautiful new PW logo which was designed by our church communications department. We believe that this logo draws our eyes instantly to the cross and communicates our commitment to living out our faith and the centrality of our faith in our work. The logo is adaptable in size, color and function. Look for it on all PW communications!

  • TWO PW HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIPS

Two Honorary Life Memberships were awarded during the PW Birthday Dinner on May 11. Diane Neil Maye and Elizabeth Wildman McKeithen (Liz) were honored for their consistent devotion, generosity, faithfulness and service to PW and to First Presbyterian Church. They join 77 other individuals who have received this honor at First Presbyterian Church since 1958. With gratitude to Diane and Liz, we offer them our sincere congratulations! Thank you to Lisa Evans and her committee for their leadership in selecting the Honorary Life Membership recipients.

  • SPARKLE TO SUPPORT SUMMER CAMPS
What an enjoyable and successful event! Thank you to everyone who donated jewelry, scarves and purses to support our Camp Grier and BELL programs! $1500 was raised to support Westerly Hills students who will attend camp in the NC mountains or who will strengthen their literacy skills at our church this summer. Thank you, Mary Margaret Porter and Jean Cochrane, for organizing and hosting this event!
  • NEW CIRCLE 14
PW is excited to introduce a new Circle! A group of women in their 20s and 30s have come together to form Circle 14. Lillie Cochran will be moderating this Circle which will meet on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in members'  homes. They will study Present over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic for a Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living by Shauna NiequistCircle 14 welcomes new members. Contact Lillie at lilliemcochran@gmail.com.
  • 2017 PW BENEVOLENCES
We are pleased to announce the recipients of our local benevolences. The Augustine Project, Center for Community Transitions, Changed Choices, Heart Math Tutoring, Jason's Getaway and Safe Alliance each will receive a local PW grant. We appreciate Linda Henley and her committee for leading our grant application process.

  • CIRCLE HIGHLIGHT:   CIRCLE 15
Circle 15 meets the second Thursday morning of the month at 9:45 am to share fellowship and discuss a book chosen by the group. We meet at members' homes or in convenient coffee shops. This coming year, Libby Bell will be our discussion leader. We are looking forward to more enjoyable times and thoughtful discussions together. Please  contact Circle Moderator Barbara Climer at bloveclimer@yahoo.com for more information about Circle 15.

  • CALLIGRAPHY SKILLS NEEDED
The church needs someone with  calligraphy or handwriting skills to fill out the baptism certificates given to families. Because the baptisms are scheduled in advance, several certificates could be completed at the same time. Anyone who is interested can contact Lorie Burns at  lburns@firstp res-charlotte.org.
MODERATOR'S MESSAGE

What a privilege to serve with you in PW this year! The words that I hope will guide our fellowship, learning and service in 2017-2018 are "Show me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth and teach me..." My prayer is that
each one of us each day will hold up these verses as a guide for our daily living and work together. With God's help, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and in Christ we will love, learn and serve together "For Christ in the Heart of Charlotte." I look forward to our time together with anticipation and joy.

Wishing each of you God's richest blessings,
Martha.
