In-Person Presbytery Gathering

May 13, 2025, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Friends,

I pray that you experienced the light of Christ on Easter Sunday!   While coming off of what I know is a busy time in the life of a church, as always, the activity and the life of the church and the presbytery keeps moving! (In the early 2000s, I had a pastor friend say to me that he and his wife were still waiting for the “post-Easter let down of 1979!”) We are now just a few weeks away from our next Presbytery meeting, which will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Kenosha. The business portion of our meeting will be held at the beginning of our time together. Due to technology and staffing restrictions, along with the structure of the rest of the meeting, this meeting will be held as an in-person-only event. At the meeting, the Planning Commission will present a plan for the next three Presbytery meetings.

After the business meeting, we will be led by our Presbytery evangelists, Rev. Mark Fraley and Rev. Dan González-Ortega, in what is known as “Dinner Church,” during which they will share aspects of their ministries with us. Mark explains this time:

At the Presbytery of Milwaukee meeting, we plan to work together for a time of community building grounded in Jesus' practice of sharing a meal and combining it with worship.  As we gather in this way, the experience will combine the Presbytery’s gathering components: education, worship, and a meal into a two-hour experience.  This will be a time of sharing a meal, storytelling in small groups, and worship.  This experience will last two hours and will provide members of the presbytery with an experience of the work that is taking place with San Jose and Kairos Collective.

Please mark your calendar now for Tuesday, May 13th at 4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Kenosha. I look forward to seeing you there!

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Kim Trimboli, Moderator
