Presbytery Meeting Follow-Up

What a fabulous day we had last Saturday as we gathered in Burlington for our stated meeting of Salem Presbytery. There are so many people to thank for making the day what it was, and we're sure to miss someone, but we'll give it a shot anyway:

  • Our hosts: First Presbyterian in Burlington. From the staff: Transitional Pastor Stewart Rawson, Director of Music Ministries, Patrick Murphy, Parish Associate Carrie Tuttle, and Parish Associate John Johnson, to the myriad of volunteers who went above and beyond, to other staff members who all worked tirelessly to make sure the First Pres as a gracious host.
  • Presbytery staff: Barbara Smith (who we missed as she was mourning the death of her father that morning), David Vaughan, Christine Ratledge, Renee Carter, and John Johnson
  • Presbytery Moderator, Catrelia Hunter
  • And finally all the Ruling Elder and Teaching Elder Commissioners who gave part of their Saturday to tend to the business of the church

Salem Presbytery Hunger Committee News

Grace magnifies grace. Just as Jesus took “the five loaves and two fishes and blessed and multiplied them” to create an abundance in Matthew’s Gospel, because of your time, talents, and generosity Salem Hunger Committee was able to collect pennies on the Second Sunday of every month from its members churches.

Employer Agreements Now Available—A message from the Board of Pensions

Employer Agreements are now available for church employers to review and submit by logging on to the Benefits Connect website through Friday, October 6. This is the annual opportunity to review, select, and change benefits offerings for the upcoming year.

Offering benefits that support well-being in four key areas—spiritual, health, financial, and vocational—enables church and presbytery staff members to bring their best gifts to their ministry and service. Explore the options available by reaching out to your Church Consultant or visiting the Board of Pensions website.
