Your Presbytery Coordinating Council continues to meet electronically each week. Like many of you, we are experiencing our spiritual connectedness in the Body of Christ in ways that are not limited by our physical separation.

By now you know that the Governor of Florida has issued a statewide, 30-day stay-at-home order. We know you have many sources for news of the COVID-19 virus and what people are doing to slow its spread and save lives.

These are a few highlights to share with you as presbytery leaders:

  • Most of our congregations are doing all we can to stop face-to-face gatherings in order to protect others and support the public welfare.

  • The Spring Stated Meeting of Presbytery (set for May 5th) is now being postponed to a date to be determined in the future.

  • As we move into the spiritual journey of Holy Week and Easter, we offer these resources that may help with your virtual worship planning:

Many of us began the season of Lent (only six weeks ago) with no idea of how the many routines of our lives we would be giving up this Lent. On our spiritual journey toward Easter newness and the joy of Resurrection, God is still Lord of all and full of surprises.

More updates and information will be shared as we move forward in faith together. We continue to pray with Almighty God for our world’s health and wholeness and that we faithfully follow Christ in the hope and compassion of our response.
