Presbyterian Women Meet in St. Louis in 2024
Do Everything in Love...
August 8 - 11
Save these dates, share these dates, and plan to join Presbyterian Women from around the country on these dates!

We will need Presbyterian Women from all over the Presbytery to assist our visitors!
What is the Churchwide Gathering?
  • Held every three years, PW’s Churchwide Gathering is an event that celebrates and can deepen your engagement in all that Presbyterian Women does. Participants enjoy workshops, tours, forums, resource gathering (and shopping!), plenary sessions with inspiring speakers, worship and more. There are opportunities to connect with Presbyterian Women from your synod and throughout the church in a variety of settings.
What happens at the Business Meeting?
  • PW’s triennial Business Meeting (held just before the Gathering!) is where the voting representatives decide the budget, leadership and programmatic emphases for the next triennium. PC(USA) leaders as well as PW’s denominational and ecumenical partners bring greetings, thanks and inspiration for Presbyterian Women’s numerous ministries.

Releasing July 31st from Our Own Julie Nicolai
Enslavement and The Underground Railroad in Missouri And Illinois
The Path to Freedom in Missouri and Illinois…
People enslaved here experienced the same horrors as those held captive in other states, and their stories of courage and perseverance are amazing. Priscilla Baltimore purchased her own emancipation and founded a freedom village. Caroline Quarlls escaped to Canada. Many who fled for their lives spent time bunkered in the basement of Hanson House. The region's Congregationalists brought a fiery. brand of abolitionism. And Prairie Park still holds the faded "haint" blue paint traditionally used on slave dwellings. Author Julia Nicolai details these and other adjective stories.

Tips for Caring for God's Unbelievable Creation:
Lift up African-American contributors to Earth Care

As a way of recognizing Juneteenth each year, lift up in your congregation the significant contribution of African-Americans who are caring for Mother Earth. There are lots of them! Just google "African American Environmentalists" to find names and photos. Post them in church media or on a bulletin board on and around June 19th.
"TIPS" is brought to you by the Earth Care Work Group of the presbytery that monitors the ten Earth Care Congregations in the presbytery (over 300 across the PCUSA) and brings awareness of environmental injustices to people of color, indigenous, women, low-income, and the LGBTQ community. Contact: carletonstock@aol.com or 314-941-9378.
