NWCC Dreaming & Discerning
Tues., Aug. 18 at 7 p.m.
The Holy Spirit may also be firing the imagination of some of you around Giddings-Lovejoy Presbytery to see visions and dream dreams of inviting disciples into Jesus’ loving mission and ministry through launching a completely new worshiping community. As you look around your corner of God’s creation, the Holy Spirit may be breaking your heart for hurting people you are being called to creatively serve through launching something new. The Giddings-Lovejoy New Worshiping Communities Commission would love to partner with you in discerning and supporting your visions and dreams for launching a new worshiping community. Learn more here.
The Youth Committee of Dismantling Racism and Privilege (DRAP) will host a zoom call on the evening of Thursday, August 20th for any youth within the Giddings Lovejoy Presbytery that might be interested in serving on a Youth Advisory Team.
The ideas and voices of our youth are critical as we as work together to understand the history and the impact of racism in our community and country.
We plan to offer activities and events that connect youth and provide opportunities to discuss issues of racism, privilege and social injustice. We want the youth advisory team to share with us how they would like to explore these topics.
If you feel the Spirit calling you to be part of this youth team and help us move towards our goal of equal justice for all God’s children, please complete this survey: https://forms.gle/yWx7gwAG4agRbcFHA
If you or your family has questions, please contact one of us.
Thank you for considering being a part of this advisory team and making a positive difference in our community.

Details are being added as they become available; one day or seven, make these PC(USA) community activities a part of your justice journey.

Tips for Caring for God's Incredible Creation:
Reduce waste by Limiting packaging volume
Limiting the amount of waste for disposal inevitably involves reducing the volume of packaging. For such food as cheese, ham, seeds, and rice, buy in bulk, by weight, or cut to your needs rather than in prepackaged sizes. For every large bag of rubbish placed at the curb, the equivalent of 71 bags of waste are created in the course of the production, transportation, and industrial processes used to convert raw materials into finished products and their packaging.
TIPS are brought to you by the Earth Care Team of presbytery representing the 8 certified Earth Care Congregations plus Mound Ridge Camp and Conference Center of the presbytery. For info on how to become an Earth Care Congregation, contact: [email protected] or 314-941-9378.
