Celebrating Ministry at Year's End

Celebrating Elm Street
The final services of Elm Street Presbyterian Church were held on Sunday, December 30. There were memories, there were tears, there was laughter, and in the end there was a reminder that the journey continues for all members.
The church was full for the final services that included pastors, who had previously served the congregation. While Elm Street Presbyterian will be missed, their legacy of mission is still well established in the history of Alton.
While no words can describe the beauty of the service or fully illuminate the work of the congregation over the years, here is a short outtake of the final worship.

Rev. John Higgins Retires
|
Rev. John Higgins was a part of sixteen years of mission, ministry and leadership with John Knox Presbyterian Church, and the community of Florissant. The congregation will surely miss him, but in the benediction of his last service he reminded them of how strong they are and the need to continue in mission in their area and beyond.
