Are You Prepared at Your Church?
Fourteen members of First Presbyterian Church of Alton participated in AED and CPR training on August 21, 2019 at the Alton Fire Department, Station 1. The class, taught by Firefighter Steven Sowders, used lecture, videos and practice using the church’s AED. Both adult and child simulators that belong to the Fire Department, were used to practice CPR. The church is thankful for this training. If needed, they now have trained people in the pews who can provide emergency assistance until paramedics arrive.
Consider reaching out to your area fire and/or ambulance district and see what programs they might offer to strengthen your health ministry!
