Between a conference in Seattle and the last presbytery gathering, I have missed the opportunity to engage with you in weekly writing! It’s a spiritual exercise of mine that helps keep me grounded, and I enjoy sharing it with you as a gift. AND SO: Next week will be the SECOND edition of “Ryan Takes Your Questions!” Feel free to send any questions you would like me to address to [email protected] or [email protected] by end of day Thursday, and we will see if we can make it a part of the next newsletter! It can be anything from “how do we can change the world?” to “what are your favorite chips?”) Looking forward to engaging with you!

Guidelines for Faith and Politics
from the PC(USA)
Below are non-partisan guidelines for people of faith voting in this year's elections. Please click on to the site and read the document before the next election. This was one of the resources handed out at the Presbytery Gathering on May 14 during a presentation by Donna Cook from the Public Witness Team of presbytery. It gives guidelines for how Presbyterian people of faith can participate in the political process in our country without getting embroiled in senseless partisan squabbles. We vote as Christians first. Hope this is helpful.

Evangelism Conference
An invitation from Kathryn Threadgill
Greetings to you all in the name of Jesus Christ. This year Theology, Formation, and Evangelism, in partnership with Montreat Conference Center, will be hosting a hybrid evangelism experience like never before. We will explore the true harms of evangelism and the church that people have experienced in their lives. We will offer hope to a new way of looking at and doing evangelism in 21st century contexts and communities. We will have practical ways for people to get involved and practice this lifestyle of faith through radical welcome and justice from the 8 Habits of Evangelism resource.
We would love to see so many of you there with us for this special event. More information around speakers, preachers, and leadership will be coming to you soon. Registration for this event opens June 1st. Please don’t wait! Make plans to join us today! We would love to see there!

Tips for Caring for God's Delightful Creation
Reduce electricity used for lighting
Electricity for lighting accounts for an average of 15% of your annual electricity bill, and the second biggest item after refrigeration. You can save by: using natural light wherever possible, switching off unnecessary lights, replacing your conventional bulbs with energy-saving ones, and where feasible, installing lighting with motion-sensors in restrooms, stairways, and hallways.
"TIPS" is brought to you by the Earth Care Team of the presbytery. Contact: [email protected] or 314-941-9378

The Voyager Scholarship
The Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service
Shaping the next generation of public service leaders: An increasingly globalized world needs young leaders who can bridge divides and help solve our biggest challenges together.
The Voyager Scholarship was created by the Obamas and Brian Chesky, Airbnb CEO, to help shape such leaders. Even though they come from different backgrounds, both the President and Brian believe that exposure to new places and experiences generates understanding, empathy, and cooperation which equips the next generation to create meaningful change.
This scholarship gives college students financial aid to alleviate the burden of college debt, meaningful travel experiences to expand their horizons, and a network of mentors and leaders to support them.
