Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is Responding to the Midwest Storms and Flooding

“PDA, on behalf of the PC(USA), has been in communication with the impacted presbyteries,” Kirk said. “Presbyterians in those areas, in addition to being survivors, are responding to the enormous needs. PC(USA) churches have opened as shelters, respite centers and family recovery centers. Presbyterians are reaching out to neighbors and meeting the immediate unmet needs in their communities.”

New Worshiping Communities Team Event
Dreaming & Discerning
Has God called you to breathe new life into a new community and in a new way? New Worshiping Communities are Spirit-led and initiated when a person hears God’s Song in a new key. Could you be that person? The New Worshiping Communities team is creating a confidential space where you can come and explore your call, God’s vision, and our desire to create new expressions of worshiping communities within the presbytery.
If you are interested in exploring a call to become a new worshiping community leader, then join the presbytery’s New Worshiping Communities team for a discerning conversation on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church at 7:00 p.m. Snacks will be provided.
For questions about the gathering and to RSVP by June 15, 2019, please contact Vanessa Hawkins at either (314) 772-2395 (ext. 1982) or vhawkins@glpby.org

200 th Anniversary Celebration
September 14 th & 15 th , 2019

September 18, 2019 will mark the 200 th anniversary of the founding of Dardenne Presbyterian Church.  God has truly blessed this congregation every step of the journey.  Our story began two years before Missouri was a state. A Connecticut missionary came to the prairie, and along with eight original members “formed by divine permission a church established on the Presbyterian Discipline and based on the Old and New Testaments as illustrated by the American Confession of Faith.”

For the Photographers Among Us
The #ArchCityReligion PhotoBurst is a community-based effort to identify, document, and explore religion as it is lived in the greater St. Louis region through crowd-sourced digital photography.
We invite people of all ages and identities to submit original digital photographs of religion in St. Louis—whatever that means to you. All submissions are welcome and will help us better understand religious life, practices, ideas, objects, and places in the greater St. Louis area. Whether you are religious or not, where do you see (or hear, smell, touch, or taste) religion in your daily life? From collective rituals to private devotions to public spectacles, law, art, sports, and entertainment, how is religion part of the experience of living in St. Louis?
Select entries will be displayed in various venues. Please go to www.religioninplace.org for further information and to submit your photograph. Entries accepted through July 19.

Explore Mound Ridge as a Family
Disconnect from Technology to Reconnect as a Family

When you hang out with your family or friends, you feel like you are fighting for their attention because of their phones. We have all been on the other side too; our social media apps are distracting. When you visit Mound Ridge, the cell service will be limited especially at the bottom of the hill near the river. In addition, there are only hot spots in the conference rooms.
We believe families and friends should take a break from technology and unplug for the weekend. During your stay, you won't feel the need to be on your phone the whole time for entertainment. You'll enjoy reconnecting with your family, and feel refreshed. You could spend the day at the river and soak up the sun (don't forget the sunscreen!) or take a hike in the woods. At the end of your stay, you will feel renewed and ready to tackle on another busy week in everyday life.
