St. Andrews Charitable Foundation
18th Annual Ageless Remarkable
Saint Louisans Gala
Recognizing Impactful Seniors While Supporting Seniors in Need
Saturday, October 1st
One of those amazing seniors is our own, Diane McCullough
St. Andrew’s Charitable Foundation will host their 18th Ageless Remarkable Saint Louisans Gala honoring 11 inspirational Ageless Saint Louisans. The October 1st gala is at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis Downtown at the Arch. All funds raised will provide low-income local seniors with vital programs and services so they can live safely, independently, and healthy in their homes.
Each year a new “class” of Ageless Remarkable Saint Louisans age 70 years or better, who are actively making a tremendous impact in St. Louis through philanthropy, volunteerism, and leadership are nominated. These inspiring individuals are proof that, at any age, anyone can make a difference in our community and in the lives of others.

Tips for Caring for God's Creation:
Keep air conditioning at a minimum
while keeping cool!
Although air conditioning is such a blessing during this really hot summer, it is one of the most energy-intensive systems you can use. There are simpler and more energy-efficient ways of keeping cool: A ceiling fan uses about one-tenth of the energy of an air conditioning unit. Window shades, blinds, shutters, and opening windows, when possible, use no energy. Plant trees around your home if possible. The most efficient setting for your thermostat during the hot months is 78 degrees.
'TIPS' is brought to you by the Earth Care Work Group of the presbytery. Contact: carletonstock@aol.com or 314-941-9378 with questions or comments.

New Commissioned Pastor Class Forming
A Commissioned Pastor is a ruling elder in the Presbytery who, once training is complete, is eligible for limited pastoral services. Commissioned Pastors may, for example, moderate the session of a congregation to which they are commissioned, administer sacraments, and officiate at marriages where permitted by law.
Many current Commissioned Pastors in the presbytery serve as sole pastors of smaller congregations. Others use their training to strengthen leadership roles in their home churches and throughout the presbytery generally.
Many candidates for the Commissioned Pastor Program complete their training while also employed full-time.
